The veteran homeless population is comprised of veterans who have served in several different conflicts ranging from World War II to recent engagements overseas. Though research indicates that veterans who served in the late Vietnam and post-Vietnam era are at the greatest risk of homelessness, veterans returning from the recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq often have severe disabilities, including traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that are known to be correlated with homelessness.

While the City will continue to assist in connecting homeless veterans to resources, the following is a list of vetted resources available to homeless veterans who were honorably discharged:

  • OC Veterans Service Office - The OC Veterans Service Office offers veterans a variety of services, including benefits counseling, and referral assistance to veterans, their departments and survivors. Please call (714) 480-6555, or e-mail OCVSO@occr.ocgov.com.
