Gameros webIn November of 2020, Loren Gameros became the first person elected to represent Costa Mesa City Council District 2.

A 40-year resident of Costa Mesa, Loren currently lives in the city with his wife Heather, son Kyle and daughter Presley.

Loren brings his two-decade career and experience with the Operating Engineers Training Trust Local 12 to the Costa Mesa City Council. The OETT is a nonprofit labor organization dedicated to the dignity of work. He teaches the profession of building inspection to the next generation of apprentices and journeypersons for work on major infrastructure projects across the region.

His experience with the OETT includes 16 years as an accredited teacher through the Rio Hondo College and Santiago Canyon College career and technical education programs. The nonprofit’s apprenticeship program provides future workers with in-depth instruction for credentials in structural plan reading, construction technology and building inspection.

He currently oversees the entire inspection program for Southern California and coordinates the apprenticeship program for building inspection on major infrastructure and development projects. He also serves as Vice Chair for the Apprentice Coordinators Association of Southern California.

Loren attended Bear Street Elementary and Tewinkle Middle School. He started his career in the 1980’s learning the value of hard work as a cabinetmaker and staircase builder at a local woodshop.

His wife Heather has previously served locally on the PTA board, and she currently enjoys being part of the foster team with Costa Mesa’s Priceless Pet Rescue nonprofit.

The couple enjoys spending free time with their two kids.
